My first astro picture since the nights have been getting darker. This was a picture I quickly grabbed at 1:30am after shooting my main target for the evening. It was taken from the North York Moors last Monday. The Comet was very low in the sky (around 19-20 degrees) when I took this image so not exactly the best pic I have seen of this Comet this year. This periodic Comet was discovered by the French astronomer Michel Giacobini on December 20th 1900. Being a periodic Comet this 2km wide chunk of ice and rock orbits the Sun once every 6.6 years.
