£10
Matt Gough - Drag Excavator

1200 tonne Drag-line Excavator, by Matt Gough

THIS EVENT IS NOW SOLD OUT – SORRY!

Another opportunity to join RSPB & WADAS (Wakefield and District Astronomical Society) under the stars for an evening of astronomy at RSPB St Aidan’s.

After an introduction to stargazing, we will take you on an interactive tour of the night sky over the nature park.

As it’s a new moon, with clear skies experts will be able to point out amazing astronomical features such as planets, constellations, galaxies, star clusters and nebula.

There will be a range of telescope types, binoculars and optical equipment so you can compare the views through each. There’s also an opportunity to get your questions answered and receive hands on advice.

Booking essential, includes a free hot drink to keep warm beneath the stars.

Note: Although we cannot guarantee a clear sky, we’ve done our best to achieve a high quality experience- even if we can’t go outside!

In the case of cloud or bad weather, we will have an indoor introduction to stargazing session and keep an eye out for gaps in the cloud cover. There will also be an indoor display of telescopes, astronomy quiz and a presentation on basic astrophotography, with room for Q&A.
